Thanks for explaining the symptoms and verifying it’s a 12fv. Some of these other guys are showing pics of rifles that are not the 12fv model. Sadly I will admit that I did not use the magazine much on my 6.5 creedmoor. I had to think about that a bit. The rifles are heavy and great for shooting off the bench. There I only single feed. There are guys that have changed stocks on these to accept box magazines like what the 12LRP uses. There are also companies that build metal bottom metal that accepts AICS mags. These are options of course. But then you’ll never recoup that money invested. Not a big deal if you intend to keep it forever. I moved on from my 12fv, after buying my Tikka CTRs. The 12FV is a sleeper though, but you have to be willing to put up with some nuances like you are seeing.
