I've put off getting a suppressor for an elk rifle, but I think I'm finally going to pull the trigger. I have lots of elk rifles, but have a consistent top 3, all trued 700s with custom barrels - 7STW, 300H&H, and a wildcat 338 (basically 33PRC).
I'm wondering if I should thread one of my current top 3 or sell a couple I don't use much and buy something already threaded (Seekins PH2, Christensen, Fierce; for example).
Questions:
Will a can throw off the balance much?
My barrels are 24" and 26, would you chop them down to like 22 for the can, or run 24/26 plus the can?
Are suppressors for a 338 more expensive than 30cal and lower? The 33PRC would be great w/ a can - bigger bullets with reduced recoil as well as sound - the others' recoil isn't as bad.
Approx how many months will it take to have it in hand? I'd like to get one for an elk rifle/a 5.56/ and a 22lr, and wonder if I should wait for a sale vs just getting them in the que ASAP.

What would you guys do?
