I live in Wyoming and got to hand select a 257 Weatherby Mk V deluxe. It remains unfired, NIB since I bought it over the summer. I picked up a beautifully made sling while in their showroom made locally by King Saddlery in natural tan with suede back and have new low Talley rings with a vintage 1” Leupold gloss 4x scope loosely mounted and 3 boxes of Weatherby factory ammo.
I was torn between buying this or a 240 Weatherby at the time and chose this as a more useful all round capable chambering. I made the right choice except for the fact that it fairly duplicates a custom pre 64 270 M70 my Dad left me that is my antelope and deer rifle. That rifle has sentimental value and I just don’t see myself using this. I’ve been mightily tempted to shoot it but it remains unfired and every bit as new.
I will point out that the forearm contacts the barrel slightly. The barrel sits well centered in the channel but a dollar bill can’t slip past this. I haven’t turned the action bolts or taken it out of the stock. I mention this just because I noticed it.
This is a ready to go iconic rig for someone and a classic Western rifle.
I believe I’ve got about $3100 into it as described above but willing to sell just the rifle or possibly some combination of extras although not separately.
More than money I’d be open to trades cash up or down. Interested in a Colt Diamondback 22, SAA, Winchester 92s, original Pythons etc.
Thanks!
