I bought my Daughter a Tikka T3x in 308. Had the barrel cut to 20" and threaded. I bought a stock that had been cut for a Lady/youth here in the classifieds. I also bought a reduced pull trigger spring. Its a pretty sweet little rig. I put a Leupold VX 2 I had on it in some low rings. There is only a couple weeks left to the end of the season and she hasn't had a chance to go hunting yet. So with a doe tag left, we went to camp.

The first day we saw several does but could not get a shot at the right one. I told her that we should wait for a shot at a big mature doe. Day 2 a group of seven does popped out at the edge of the wood line at 100yds. I told her to pick out the biggest one. Well, the biggest one was an old grey mature doe and she kept moving around. She was in and out of the wood line and would not present a broadside shot. They were acting skittish. The big one went back into the woods and two more followed her. I knew they would all be gone soon. I told her to get on the next biggest one and shoot. A couple seconds later she squeezed off a shot at a nice doe quartering towards her as it turned to step back in the woods. She made a good shot with a 150gr Nosler Ballistic tip and the doe went maybe 10-15 feet and collapsed just inside the wood line.

It is always a great experience to hunt with family and loved ones. I have spent lots of time with the grandkids this season. It was nice to be able to get out with my daughter. She was really happy to get a chance to hunt with Dad and put a good doe in the freezer.

The bullet entered just in front of the left shoulder and was partially sticking through the hide just behind the right shoulder.

The pedal sticking up was protruding through the skin behind the off side shoulder.
