Many years back I killed a Black Bear with a 38/44outdoorsman. Dumb me I sold it and regretted it for a very long time. I found a replacement in decent shape and I'll never sell that one. I don't know the velocity but I load a .38 Spl. case quite hot running the Lyman #358156 gas checked bullet. It's also very accurate with a 148 gr. wadcutter and 3.1 gr. W231.
