I started hunting with a single barrel exposed hammer shotgun. The Handi is sort of a nostalgic return to the past. Thought it would be cool to start out my grandson the same way I did. Several of my hunting buddies agree as between us we have a half dozen or more. There are a couple of .223's, a couple of .243's , a 25'06 and a .22 Hornet. All but an ultra lite .243 are as accurate as any off the rack bolt gun.

And it's not because they are inexpensive that we bought them. I own around 20 center fire rifles and my friends all own several as well. We are shooters. We like them because they are something differant, surprisingly accurate, safe, reliable, durable and make a great truck-barn-knock around-gun. And a good first gun for a kid.

I have two beautiful muzzel loaders sitting in a corner because my Handi in .50cal goes bang when I pull the trigger ,something the other two don't do, and it's far more accurate than either.

Too old to suffer fools
