I had a 22-250 with an 8 twist to run 80s in it. Shot very good, barrel life was around 1200 rounds or less generally.

It shot to 1000 real easy. This was prior to 90s, which I shot religiously in my 223 after they came out in the AR.... I"m fairly sure that with the extra speed of the 22-250 that an 8 twist would be really close to stable with 90s from JLK or Wildcat. That being said I know a number of folks that ran 22-6mm with 8 twist and 90 jlks, no problem. I don't recall speeds though or what it could compare to a 22-250 with 90s.

7 twist should easily do it as 90 jlks will ALMOST stabilize in a 7 twist in a 20 inch tubed 223! We went to 6.5 twist in 223 and it works fine, having shot some really good scores out to 1000 with that setup and all going point in, MV 2750 ish IIRC.

I would not go faster than a 7 twist and IMHO with a 22-250 a 7.5 twist might be just about perfect.

We did have best luck shooting 90s in the 223 getting both speed and accuracy without pressure by using 3 groove barrels. 4 groove barrels were accurate, but not speedy vs pressure.

Good luck, Jeff
