"Power"-wise, the biggest I've killed deer with is the .358 Norma Magnum; Caliber-wise, 9.3x62 & .45/70. Have carried a .411 KDF Magnum in the deer woods but haven't had a chance to shoot one with it. Did shoot a bobcat with the .411 though, not pretty! Exit was the size of a football, in other words everything from just behind the front shoulder to just in front of the back hip. Believe it or not though, I had it mounted using the hide from another cat as a "patch". That side goes towards the wall....
