I did a little experiment with my TC Encore in 25-06 compairing neck sizing to full length sizing.

I used Remington brass, CCI Large Rifle primers, and 117 gr Sierra GameKing bullets.

The load that showed the most promise is the max load (according to Sierra Manual 5th Edition) of 50.5 gr Reloader 22. The bullets were seatedH with a C.O.A.L. of 3.15" (.005 off the lands)however I was only getting 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 100 yds (This was with neck sized brass).

I performed an experiment testing bullet seating depth and neck size brass vs full length sized brass.

I loaded this exact same load (50.5 gr Reloader 22) but seated the bullet to the C.O.A.L. listed in the Sierra Manual of 3.13".

Half of the rounds comprised of brass that was neck sized only (Lee Collet Neck Die) and the other half that were full length sized (Lee Full Length Die).

Target distance is 100 yds.

The results:

Neck sizing only rounds grouped 2 inches

The rounds that were Full Length sized gave a very nice .730 inches (outside to outside measurment) or .730 - .257 =.473 (center to center) group.

Just some food for thought.
