A Ruger .270 was the first deer rifle that I ever bought. Still have it. A newer Ruger 7mm-08 is now my "go to" gun now. Recoil is very managable with great results on our Virginia Whitetails.

If it's for your daughter....I'd keep the 7mm-08....
