I would have to say my best bowhunting experience was on the first bow kill I ever made. I took my first whitetail deer at about 3 steps and I was on the ground with her. Yes it was a doe but it was one of those day's when everything finally came together. I was leaning against a tree with a limb hanging over to the ground that gave fairly good cover. The big doe just came walking by and after the shot went approx. 40 yards and fell. I know it was not a good buck but when your first deer with a bow is shot at 3 steps and you are not in a treestand it just does not get any better. Expecially after hunting several years before getting a good shot. I have taken numerous bucks and does since but that Doe seems to stick in my mind.
