I have an old Reminginton roller that I assembled from all original parts. The action is as best I can tell one of 10,000 sold to Sweden in 1875, the barrel is one Swedens Husquvarna military muskets chambered and threaded to mount to the Roller. I aquired the barreled action a few years ago the barrel is proofed marked to be of the aforementioned Husky version, I found stocks for this rifle in Winapeg Canada they cost me three boxes of 458 Win unprimed brass. Stocks came complete with 125 years of crud and all iron hardware. They fit the rifle perfectuly. What I need is a rear sight. The other problem is the cartridge, I first thought it was a 12.7x44 so I obtained a box of Bertram brass(now for sale or trade) but the brass does not fit properly it is lose at the rear of the chamber.I can move it around in the chamber. I slugged the chamber but it measured weird, I think my metric conversion was wrong will need to recast the chamber. I do believe it is probably a 12.7x60. Does any one know anything about this cartridge. I have found a diagram of it and it seems to fit the bill. Secondly how much freebore would be normal for a black powder sporting cartridge? The actual bore is .502 dia. The 50-70 winchester is .510 -.512 my muzzleloader uses .502 dia bullets.
