If there is one particular bullet you plan on loading in your 6mm, make up a dummy round that will fit your magazine and send it with your action and barrel to the smith who is fitting them.
I shoot a 6mm on a short 700. The shilen on it is a 12 twist. I shot NBT 70grainers. Shoots very well.
