What kind of information are you looking for? The 1964 Winchester catalog had a picture of the then "New" .22s. Remember, this was the first year for the "New" everything Winchester. The .22 rifles were "2" series. 250 for lever, 270 for pump and 290 for the semi-auto rifles. Both the lever and the pumps were offered in 22 magnum. The lever was the model 255 and the pump was the model 275. I am not sure when Winchester first offered the magnum versions. I had a lever model 255 in 22 magnum. I currently have the 250, 270 and 290 .22s in "as new" condition. Sadly however, these new models were not the Winchester .22s many of us loved and still own. Check out the prices on the model 61 Winchesters in .22 and 22 magnum today. I know a fellow who paid $1900.00 for a 97-98% 61 22 magnum last fall and he was delighted to get it. Shoot your 255 as much as you can and have fun with it. It's a good gun, but not a great gun.
