I'm not planning on trying to make this thing into a 458 Winnie, haven't had a Lott and several other big bores I've gotten my fill of monster magnums, I was looking for a short, handy, 45/70 clone. I will be happy with 300s at 2200, 350s at 2000, and 405s at 1900-200. I think this should be doable, I shot a lot of 405gr loads out of my 45/70 guide gun at 1925fps.
I have a handfull of 300gr Tipped triple shock that look pretty sporting for it. Other than that I have been impressed by the speer 350gr hot cores in my 458 lott and think they would be great in this 458 american.
