There are a lot of various opinions on this one ...

I would think you need to "handle" it yourself before buying, and then JUDGE FOR YOURSELF.

I found some opinions on "Police Link" regarding a Beretta Brigadier 96, DAO:

1. The DAO was a good feature causing the trigger pull to be SMOOTH.

2. I find the DAO trigger to be Hellish, to say the least.

3. I found the DAO trigger to have way too much travel.

Me? I have fired a Minnesota State Hi-Way Patrol Beretta 96, DAO, 40 S&W, pistol, and didn't notice anything objectionable about any function of the pistol. I thought it was all perfect. But I was just shooting it, not thinking or trying to analyse it.

There were 4 of these pistols at a small Gun Show in Minnesota, selling reasonably priced, and I took notice of one (may have had an older-style round trigger guard?) but anyway I looked closer at this particular handgun and found it was mfd. in Italy, and the other ones were mfd. in Accokeek Maryland, USA.

"Some" claim that the Italian Berettas are of better quality, but I couldn't afford to buy it then, so my buddy did.

And he's still happy.
