One thing to add about the youth 243 (I got my son one for his first hunting rifle) is it is a hellaciously loud gun, and that muzzle blast has as much to do with being gunshy as the tap on the shoulder.
As to loads, he seems to shoot the 85 gr barnes tsx over a max dose of H-4350 as any other load. He really likes shooting the 75 gr V-max over a max dose of RL-15, less recoil and excellent accuracy.
