I have an old cabin tent in which I contemplated putting a stove boot. However, because of its lack of fire resistant canvas, I was spooked off the project. I spoke with Montana Canvas about an aftermarket fire resistant treatment for canvas and they told me that there was no effective way to treat my tent. I know that fire resistant treated canvas only buys you a little more time to get out of the tent when she catches on fire, but as slow as I am in my old age I need all the time I can get. Incidentally, in old rag camps (logging tent camps), tent fires, especially in cold dry falls, were a serious issue for the crews. CP.
