Not that this information is too useful, becuase I have not used the 260 but my son shot a cow elk this year at 200 yards with a 308 and a 150 gr. Barnes X. It was a perfect shot just behind the shoulder. She took 4 steps and fell over dead. Complete penetration. Personally, I'd vote for the bigger bullet diameter.
