thanks that is a lot to digest. i purchased the rifle because of its appearance and lines. the caliber only came to me after i took it out of the stock. i thought at the time it may be a nice project rifle. the shop thought it to be re barreled. but on the bottom it is marked with the same # as the receiver. the bore is perfect. i will post a few more picts however i will have to one at a time. what may this rifle be worth?? i am no expert by a long shot but it must be pre wwII. eagles stampted on the receiver bbl and bolt. as its not set up for a scope and the rifle seems to be original so i hate to have it tapped. thanks chris
