I believe the only older ones that would have a premium (depending upon caliber) is the carbine version with 20" sighted barrels from the 1960's. Now in terms of quality, most collectors find the earlier rifles (1960's vintage) to be superior in quality of fit & finish.
I had a 1965 vintage BDL in .270 and it was very well built, even with the Fleur-de-Lis impressed checkering, which I personally thought was attractive. After 1969, the impressed checkering was changed to an ugly ribbon pattern until around the 1973-1974 period. J.M.H.O.
