Larry,<P>The one screw design is not "brainless", it it "cheapness". Many rifles built this way can be easily improved by drilling a second hole in the stock, one at the rear of the action and put a second screw to hold the mecanism. <BR>I saw the results with one CZ, it was just plain unbelievable: 20 rounds in a one inch hole at 100 meters. The combination of Kolti barrel and a two scew attached, bedded action gave an awesome rifle.<BR>I suggest you try this with your marlin, then buy an anschutz 1415 or 1416, or cheaper, a cz silhouette (compsite stock, clone of the well made mc millan one) and the customize it. I swear you will love the piece.<BR>olivier
