DJTex Campfire Tracker Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 4,135 Central Texas	25-06 if you want to stay in a similar LA rifle, and a 7-08 or 243 if you want to go SA. I've got Kimber Montanas in 300 WSM and 7-08 (and the Wizzum) is a fair bit heavier, but the 7-08 recoils noticeably less. I run 180's in the 300 and 140's in the 7-08, FWIW. Not exactly a 30-06 to 7-08 comparison, but not far off. If you want to stay 30 cal, 308 or 300 Savage would sure make good sense and provide less recoil. I know some have suggested you stick with your '06 and load her down, but they have overlooked a huge problem with that advice...It means you don't get a new rifle...grin. DJ
