I'm with these guys too.
Last winter I was deciding this issue myself.
Both models were available to me at my local gun shop, and in a side by side comparison I like the feel of the standard 629, (just a little more front heavy).
Also, (it seemed), the wider trigger and hammer fit my grip.
At the time of purchased I also got a 'X' (SW 500) rubber grip for it.

Did SW drop it from 2010?
