You might check the Greybeard Outdoor H&R Forum. I've been mulling the same buy. H&R has the Buffalo Rifles in the 32" .45-70 with Williams peep and the 20" in .45LC. One can rent a reamer and bore the .45LC to .454 Catsul for about $30. It would make a nice little carbine and still shoot the .45LC. GunsAmerica has the .45-70 for $350 and the .45LC for $290.
