The trouble....Simmons is associated with budget optics. Lots of people don't know that Simmons has marketed some very good stuff. That 4x probably didn't sell for anywhere near $400 back then, but the Presidential series was a very good scope. Internals were excellent, better than most any imported scopes. My 6.5-20 Presidential has been on the same rifle since the early 90's......during that time about 10 Leupolds have been gotten rid of.
