Do you all use mag primers in your 300 Win Mags? I've been working on 300WM loads w/ 168gr & 180gr TTSX using Re17 and CCI BR-2's. I'm getting 3300fps and 3100fps respectively from a 24 inch tube w/ no pressure at 1 grain over allient's listed max for both. I'm getting better Std Dev's and smaller groups with the cooler primer and have had no ignition issues even in temps below 32F. I know Re17 seems fast for the 300 Win Mag but I've really been impressed with the velocity and accuracy I've gotten from it. I'm convinced that out of a 24 or even 26 inch barrel there isn't anything to be gained with the slower powders besides more muzzle flash.
