Obviously, based on the varying opinions above. there's no such thing as "best". IMHO it truly is a Chevy vs Ford thing. I own an absolute stock Rem model 7 in 7mm-08 that shoots 1/2" at 100 yards with most factory loads. I was very close to buying that Kimber when I ran into it in my local Basspro. It felt very nice looked great and probably would out shoot me. Would it serve me better that my mod 7? Nope. However, if I was going to get another "off the shelf" rifle I'd look hard at Cooper arms. In the mean time I rifle hunt mostly with a 1951 Savage 99 with iron sights in 300 savage.
