Got my McGowan 24", SS select, 1/10" twist bbl. in Wednesday and put it all together.
1st shot at 50 yds & on paper as I knew it would be since my BSA scope was perfect as usual.
Out to 100 yds, 1" low, dial 1/2" low, dail up 1/2" more then 6 shots into the bulls and most through the same holes...YA Im happy!
Shot my 65g vmax load & 70g NBT load and was getting happier as I could see small holes in one spot. My 85g Sierra SGK HP went into .550"! These are the same loads I shot in my 6x45 AR15 upper I have for sale.
This was with the wind constantly blowing from 16-30+ mph and I still got super targets. Even though it was sunny it was 39*-45*.
So tonite I reloaded 70 rounds up to test out on my p-dog shoot tommorrow & maybe get that coyote that got away last week!
The barrel cleans up easy & very nice.
Its just an ugly Savage FP10, plastic stock, same ol non-accu trigger, NSS fat lug and new SS large knob. Shooting with a bipod and bag at the rear. Scope is my 1986 BSA platnum 6-24x44, 1/8" dot, target dials & thats all I need to put p-dogs/coyote/antelope to rest!
