Sitka, I am actually of the opinion that the Ruger is a fair effort. The one I handled had some proud woud, and, in typical Ruger fashion, the chokes were proud of the barrels. Things like that make you go "WTF"???????? Aestetically, it's pretty pedestrian, but handling wise, I think it's fairly close to the mark.
The Marlin ElCee (may they rot in pergatory for a thousand years for blapheming the L.C. name....) looks rather nice. Until you pick it up.
Between looks and handling, I'll take the handling. JMO, Dutch.
