I shoot 46.3 grain RL-15, Federal brass, 210M primer and a 150 ballistic tip. Very accurate load but definitely warm.


It's not the grain-charge as much as the velocity one is getting. It's no trick to get 2,800 fps with a 150 in a 22" bbl'd 308 Win. IME, you can keep adding powder til you get to 2,800 - 2,820 fps. Some manuals show as much as 49.0 gr's RL15 with 150's.

47.0 is the "standard" RL15 150/308/2,800 fps load, but w/out a chronograph you're in the dark.
