I shot a young whitetail bucks with with the 7mm/160 accubonds at 3000 fps at like twenty yards.

The tip exploded on impact, leaving a softball sized entrance hole, but the base still penetrated in to the off shoulder. That was reassuring that they can work at short range, even though that's not at all what that round is designed for.

Since then I've killed a good sized bear at 20-30 yards (in the neck) and a young bull elk at 40-50 yards. Both times the bullet worked wonderfully. Especially on the bull, going in behind the shoulder quartering away and leaving a good sized exit in front of the off shoulder.
