More often than not, I've found feeding problems in 1911s can be traced back to magazines. The style and angle of the feed lips can make for a frustrating range time if they're not well suited to the ammo/gun you're using.
For instance, my ball gun is <obviously> set up to run 230 gr FMJ. The ball gun mags run flawlessly with that ammo AND will even work fine in my wad gun running 200 gr SWC lead or 185 jacketed SWC. However, if I try to run the 185s through the ball gun (using my ball gun mags) I will have nothing but trouble. Yet if I switch and use my wad-gun mags I can shoot 185s through my ball gun. It's really about the ammo/mag/ramp combination that makes or breaks cycling.
The feed lips on your mag look to be more of a wad or hybrid mag rather than a full taper GI. The result seems to be holding the round at too shallow of an angle to clear the ramp and chamber. If you have different mags (especially from a different manufacturer) I'd give that a try first.
