Congrats...a 145 may be light in a 7mag...in a c/c...my first deer was shot about 30 yds w/a 145 speer, and the bullet vaporized on an 8pt WT deer's shoulder....but he dropped w/in a very short distance.

I won't use a bullet on big game that might blow up, unless it's very specialized bullet ie. a 105 amax that will only shoot lungs or head/necks.

Barnes as most know, is a WHOLE other animal and is not apples to apples w/weight.

Residual wt., frontal diameter, overall penetration/wound channel is what's key, but I do consider BC when deciding WHICH Barnes as too light can be detrimental on residual impact speed on longer shots - and min fps is key on copper bullets IMO.
