FWIW, last year a local funshop had a lettered Gopher Special in .220 Swift that sold for only $1500 due to a buncha extra holes in the side of the receiver where someone once had a side scope mount.
Someone got a nice varminter @ half price, 'cuz they could live with Swiss cheese.
