i had a 300 win mag like yours several years ago, only i believe mine had a 26" barrel. it was my "beanfield" rifle, and would knock a whitetail on his a$$ as far as i was comfortable shooting across my soybean fields. i used win factory 180gr ballistic tip ammo as the rifle shot them so well. i sold it after a couple seasons, but never regretted owning the rifle. "heavy but accurate" is how i would describe mine.
