I would be willing to bet that this is one of those cases of looking at the hole in the hide and leaping to conclusions. I cannot imagine how many hundred deer a person would have to shoot to recover enough Barnes bullets to have an informed opinion of their expansion from recovered bullets alone. I have examined quite a few deer shot with Barnes and about all I can figure is that they wreck stuff on the way through in a manner consistent with expansion and appear to cavitate through the chest very well. Out of about sixty deer I have yet to see any evidence of failure to expand.
