After reading all the posts on rem safetys it's lucky no one got hurt. The issue with the trigger can be fixed with a grinder and the bolt can be opened without taking the safety off. I have done several Rem and done it to my Ruger MK1 pistol. I don't like having to take the safety off to unload my firearms.
Actually there have been at least one death and a number of injuries attributed to the Remington safety. Lawsuits have been filed and a few have been settled out of court for millions. More are pending. Lawdog
