I used Steve's d-i-y- kit and DVD with good results.

A couple of observations and suggestions: Watch the direction the lever pin is driven. It is the one that is driven through the hole in the receiver, and releases the lever assembly. IIRC, it goes in the opposite direction from the usual right to left pin insertion. Also, I would not be as aggressive as Steve shows in removing material, particularly rounding off the lever detent. Although some shooters may prefer a fairly loose "fast" action, it may be too loose for others. I prefer a bit more "feel" or crispness. Keep in mind that Steve is a pro and does a lot of these. I'm not comfortable using a bench grinder the way he does. I made gentle use of a belt sander, Dremel tool, and especially hand stones. Easy does it.
