I know of a few places where these birds nest.
I would really like to get a chance to photograph their young but timing is everything.
You have to wait until the adults are ready for an audience around the young. So far it just hasn't happened for me. Twice I have watched nesting Sandhill's waiting for they're young to hatch around Citrus County Florida only to find the nests and eggs destroyed by recreational airboaters unaware the nests were in the area.
