Way wrong. In fact, Large Surface Combatants (both CVN and CG) that can be at sea more and in port less are in high demand. There's a reason that a higher % of the fleet is at sea now on operational deployments than ever before.

Manned aircraft will continue to be the platform of choice for close air support and all missions areas forward without extensive C4. The sweet spot for unmanned is long dwell ISR and deep strike penetration first night combined with low observables.

Many of those unmanned ISR assets will fly from big deck CVN's that are forward deployed.

I know of what I speak with real world experience both as an NFO and an engineer who puts things on UAV's.
