In New York, this past year a bill was passed that allows big game hunting with a rifle in several counties that have always been shotgun only. I have been curious, what happened? Was there a rush to the local gunshop for a m70 or 700? Were hunters reluctant to leave their old trusted 870 or Deerslayer at home? It was reported that there were no accidents in the affected counties due to use of rifles but I have been wondering if many people were using them. Anyone know? My county was not included.
