Well, have a MGM 30/40 Krag that shoots well. However the search
goes on. Next there is a TC barrel in 375JDJ. It shoots well and the barrel adds a little weight to the gun and it is not hard to shoot recoilly speaking. This fall a 23" 44mag barrel was found that had been rechambered to 444 Marlin. That barrel will hunt this fall and again this one is easy to shoot. Bullbury also makes a 444 barel for the G2. Also have a TC 28 Ga.barrel. If I wasn't so inhibited about spending I would have purchased a 22 Hornet barrel a year ago.

The ideal deer rifle for me is a large caliber, heavy weight bullet moving at a moderate pace. So I am looking forward to using the 444. I don't understand it but for some reason I am not interested in the 45/70.
