I'm in the minority here but I think the 10/22 is fine for squirrels. My 10/22 was a Christmas present from my dad when I was 11 in 1976 and it is plenty accurate and a nice little rifle for the squirrel woods, I've never had a problem killing squirrels with it. That said, I have 2 BRNO Mdl 1 bolt actions (the ancestor of the current CZ rimfires) and a Kimber of Oregon M82 that are my go-to guns now. I wouldn't hesitate to use the Ruger but I just prefer bolt actions.
