I've been looking at the scope bases on it, and wondering what kind they were! They certainly do look like the ones made by Michael Scherz. Thanks!

I haven't taken the rifle apart to see if there's a name on it anywhere. Was just told that it was by Frank Wells, and the price was right for a good looking Model 70, so I jumped.
