Yes, they were made in 1973 and are one of the scarcest models of the pre-crossbolt safety 1894. IIRC Brophy's book quotes around 1300 manufactured. As you point out it came with a 22" barrel, half magazine, straight grip and square lever. Back in the day when guns were bought sight unseen through the Shotgun News I bought one. The price was a bargain and when I received it I found out why. The wood had been nicely refinished but the barrel had been shortened crookedly. Since the collector interest was ruined I had the barrel professionally cut back to 18.5". The silver lining is it turned out to be the handiest thick cover carbine I own.
