That is worth repeating, and probably clarifying the intended targets of the OP. Varmints were mentioned, to me that's prairie dogs, crows, sparrows, and the occasional possum.
Predators are another ballgame. The legs of a bipod tend to "stick" right where you set them - heaven help you if you are predator hunting and need to reposition a bit to one side or the other - like you will most likely have to do. A good set of sticks allows a lot of latitude and still provides a stable rest. A much better swivel w/o the fancy gadgets!
