I spent the last two weekends in search of my early season buck and was surprised to see the number of blue grouse. Seems as though all the coveys are between 6 and 10 birds. They are still young but look heathly. It would have been easily to collect my four bird limit any of the six days I've been in the woods. I am not seeing much coyote sign although I did see where a grouse was killed.

<br>I am not seeing adult birds and wonder if they are sitting on a second clutch of eggs. Does anyone know about grouse and the possibility of a second hatch?
