The ones I've seen have no problem of that kind.

Fine tuners like the breeder competitor whom sold me the dog are able to obtain a dog which is going to stand still at flushing birds and gunshots, and wait for the command to retrieve the bird and bring it back. I don't think I can reach that level.

I couldn't hunt with a retriever, I need a dog with enough strength and agility to face foxes and russian boars (which we regularly meet when hunting small games and birds in small woods), able to retrieve and catch a wounded roe deer, to retrieve birds and small games, but mostly to point at pheasants, partridges, hares, rabbits and woodcock. If he can bring me back ducks from water, it's a good bonus. Griffons are supposed to be tailored for that multi-purpose role, I hope i can get it from mine.


Up to now, the pup seems to be much easier to train than the GSP.





No more dung in the house in 4 days and the call back seems already very effective.
