I just read back through these posts and realized how many of these blowups/accidents involve the 270 Winchester in one way or another. Kind of surprising.
It is also surprising how much abuse that the modern rifle can take without having a catastrophic failure that results in serious injury or death. In the case of my BLR, the rifle didn't fail at all, but took the abuse repeatedly according to the previous owner. Of course the next shot could have scattered it over an acre or two and seriously injured the shooter.
